Ensure the bees are being rescued by asking the right questions

  1. Can you provide your annual apiary registration documentation required by the agricultural commissioners office?

  2. Will you be framing up the brood from the hive during the rescue process? Honeybee brood needs to be incubated at 95F degrees. If the rescued bees are not placed back on the brood ASAP, the incubated baby bees will die.

  3. Can you provide references with phone numbers that can verify you personally have Apiaries that the bees will be rescued to?

If a “Honeybee Rescuer” tells you that he gives his rescued bees to beekeepers, that should be a red flag that the bee’s most likely are not being “re-homed” and are most likely just being “relocated” … which means dumping them out in a field to die or find a neighbor’s home attic to set up a new home in.
